Do decrease every 9th stitch (knit the 8th and 9th stitches together).
Then knit even a few rows then decrease every 8th st by knitting the 7th and 8th sts together. Knit even one row. Then you can start decreasing every row (follow the same decrease method above. the st number will decrease)until you have about 10 sts left and then finish them off. If you have more than ten stitches, you just keep k2tog every row until you get close to ten.
