Hello Amy,
You can use a wrap or single cast on method on you right needle. You can watch a video below if you need help. Just ignore the slip knot. Once you've done the 4 sts cast on, you can continue knitting the next st as usual.

Or you could use a knitted cast on method below. In order to do the knitted cast on, you have to put the right needle on your right hand and cast on. Once you've got your 4 sts cast on, you'll return the needle with the cast on sts to your right hand and continue knitting the rest of the stitches as usual.
