"increase 6 x 1 stitches at both ends at every 2 rows" is not a very good way to write direction. This is not very clear. Knitters could interpret this as;
1. To increase a stitch on both end every 2 rows until there are 6 stitches increase. This would make 6 sts increase.
2. To increase 1 st at both ends every 2 rows for a total of 6 times. This would make a 12 sts increase.
So, it turns out both of these methods don't work. If the instruction wants to have 104 sts then there should be only 2 increases of 1 st at both ends on every 2 rows.
I would do increase every 2 rows at both ends and get a total of 104 stitches and see what the further instruction is.
