Kfb on double pointed needles

I am trying to do a Kfb on 3 dpns using three stitches on each needle. The pattern calls for a Kfb on each stitch in the 2nd round. The stitches get so tight I can’t get the needle in. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
