Knitting a kangaroo hoodie

by Terry
(Sandy Hook, MB Canada)

I've almost completed knitting a children's kangaroo style hoodie and I just found out that the neckline tends to be a bit tight. I haven't started the hoodie part yet but I'm wondering if I should add a few rows of ribbing around the neckline before I start the hood. Would that help?

No problem. I know, taking apart is such a pain. Best to you.

That makes sense. I'll see what I can do as all the parts are knitted already and I hate to take it apart. Thank you!

Hi Terry,

I'm thinking if the neck line is too narrow then it would be better to take out a few rows around the neck line. You can decrease less than suggested so that you have extra stitches left and then work even up to the length you want before adding the hood.

I don't think the ribbing will help much at this point because the narrow part had already been made.

Thanks for the question and visit.
