Bernat Kiddie Korner's knit blanket pattern

Hello, I was trying to start this pattern for a bernat kidddie korners knit blanket. It asked me to cast on only 3 stitches... This is new to me? I have only seen where it shows the full amount of stithces. I asked a women from my church and the only thing she told me was to use a twisted loop cast on but i still don't really understand how that helps.

Hello Nicole,

It's going to be fine. This blanket is worked from one corner and will increase and get wider as you go. So, no worry. Start knitting away!
