Need Help With Knitting Pattern

by Anonymous

Question: I have tried several times; but, I do not understand this pattern - can you help. It reads like this...

SL1 wyif, k1, skip, knit to marker, p2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skip, p2, k12, p2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, skip,p2 knit to last 4 sts. k2tog,k2. - 2 sts decreased.

Answer: Can you send me a copy of the pattern. I need to see some of the previous rows and to get some idea of how the pattern is written. Right now it doesn't make any sense to me to skip a stitch and do nothing to it. Unless, it means to skip to make a drop stitch.

Gaps appearing with color changes in same row
by: Ratchadawan

You can try twist yarns together each time you change to a new color. I found it helpful when I do mine.

I hope this help.

Gaps appearing with color changes in same row

I am knitting a Christmas stocking that has Santa on it for my Granddaughter. For Santa's face and other areas it says to not carry the yarn, to use bundles instead. The issue I'm having is when I change color from one bundle to the other, for instance, on Santa's face, in the same row, I have a few stitches of white angora for beard, some pink for his face then white angora for the beard on the other side of his face. Everywhere I change from one color to another, gaps appear that just keep getting larger with each row. Can you help me?

Casting off slipper
by: Ratchadawan

It sounded to me like you have to do 3 needles cast off. You knit through 2 sts, one from the front needle and one from the back needle, then do the next set of the stitches the same way and then cast off.

Here are some videos showing 3 needle bind off method.

I hope this helps

Casting Off
by: Anonymous

Hi there, I am knitting slippers and am having difficulty understanding what I need to do in the last step. The pattern is as follows:

Divide the stitches on to 2 needles. On wrong side cast off in Knit stitch ,one stitch each side together.

I have 10 stitches on each needle but don’t know how to cast off. :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
