Hi,

I'm pretty sure that the pattern meant to say " sl 1, yrn, k2tog (slip 1, yarn round needle, knit 2 together)"

You can do this by slip the next st purlwise to the right needle. Then wrap yarn around the right needle one round and proceed to knit the next 2 sts together.
