Top down shawl pointed cast off

Hi Camilla,

Thanks for the question and visit. I personally prefer to cast off my work first and then add my edging later. If you prefer not to do that then perhaps you could try working the edging while casting off at the same time. Here is my idea for you. Work 5-pointed scallop over 250 sts. work over 50 sts section for 5 times.

Row 1 (RS): Knit 25, w&t
Row 2 (WS): Purl back to beginning
Row 3 (RS): Knit 20, w&t
Row 4 (WS): Purl back
Row 5: Knit 15, w&t
Row 6: Purl back
Row 7: Knit 10, w&t
Row 8: Purl back
Row 9: Knit 5, w&t
Row 10: Purl back

Now you have a stepped triangle. You’ll now knit across all 50 stitches and bind off:

Row 11 (RS):
Knit across all 50 sts, picking up wraps.
Bind off LOOSELY as you go or you could use elastic cast off method.

Move on to the next 50 sts and repeat this whole section to create the next point.

Have fun!
Ratcha
