Blocking a finished knitting project by: Ratchadawan
Hi Sharda,
Thanks for the question. Blocking refers to methods of finishing your works or pieces before you sew them together. Blocking makes your works look better and neater. There are different ways of blocking. You can steam it with a steam iron (without an iron touching it) or a steamer or wet and then roll in a towel and lay the work flat to dry. It's helpful to have a blocking mat so that you can pin your work down.
"Blok works to measurement" is to block and then pin works to the size indicated on your pattern. When knitted piece is moist or wet, it's flexible and easy to shape.
You can order a blocking kit from Amazon with decent price. I recently just ordered mine with a mat and pins set after all these years that I had blocked my piece on a towel over my carpet floor.
You may want to learn more about blocking and techniques. Just google blocking for knitting or something in that nature and you should find it.
