Confused with omitting 3 garter side St's

My pattern says place markers at each end of last row cont in stocking stitch for 4 rows omitting 3 garter side stitches but I'm new to knitting and no idea how to do it help thanks

Hi,

This means to keep the 3 sts border on each side as garter sts. So, you would knit these 3 sts at each end on every row while keeping the rest of the stitches in stockinette stitches (knit on the right side and purl on the wrong side).

I finished this hat awhile ago but didn’t get a chance to post it. It is my experimental piece. The Pom Pom can be remove when you want to put up a pony tail. Thanks to my models who can tolerates such condition. :)
