Confusing row instructions

This is exactly as it as written. I am confused what I am to continue to the last 3 stitches

Sl1p wyif, k1, sl1p, to last 3 sts, sl1p wyif, k1

If I just sl1p my yarn is back at the k1 - my row has 52 sts
Which is also not a multiple of 3 if I do the 3 stitches over and over

Yes, you're right. It's not very clear to me either. It is also incorrect about the last 3 sts because it only has 2 left to work with.

I think you may have to contact the designer, if possible.

I'm sorry for not being very helpful here.

I hope you find a solution.
