Knitting socks: what happens if you are finished with the decreases and ready to stitch closed the toe but there are more stitches than called fo r in the pattern?
It depends on how many more stitches you've got left. If there are only few stitches, I would go ahead and close them up. If there are too many left, I would knit decreases few more rows. Those are the two easiest options. Another option is to unravel your work and start doing the decrease a little earlier depending on the length you want.
