Hi Barbara,
Thanks for sharing your question. It's a nature of stockinette stitch that keep the edge rolled. It would help if you could add ribbing or seed stitch to the edge. This will prevent it from rolling. But if you have to stay with what you have then try steam blocking. It works best on wool but also works with other fibers as well. Do not put an iron directly on your piece, only let steam flow to it.
