k1B pattern

I am working on this pattern and I am confused on what it means to K1B on the first stitch. In the pattern for row 2, it starts with a K1B which stands for knit into the back of next st, but I don’t know how to do that. Do I ignore the first st or do knit it first and then knit into the back of next st. Please help.

K1B (knit into back of the next stitch

Hi Kimberly,

The first stitch is the next stitch when you start a new row. So you can just knit into the back of the first stitch when you working on row 3 (I know you mentioned row 2 but you meant row 3, right?) The stitch count should be 17 sts as directed. It's quite a complex pattern. I knitted up to row 8 just to see how this pattern looks like.

Best to you and happy knitting!

Ratcha
