Yes, usually increase happens on the right side.
To inc every 6th row is to inc on the next row (right side) and then on the next row (wrong side) count it as 1st row on a row counter. Knit 5 rows and then on the 6th row do the inc. Reset the row counter to 1 on the next wrong side row. Keep repeating this until further instructed.
