pattern help - bulky pillow

I want to make a pillow cover- about 16 X 16 ish
I have alot of bulky weight yarn and almost every size needle
It doesn't need to be a fancy stitch
What size needles would I use, how many stitches and what pattern?

Hi Arlene,

I think cable pattern looks great for a pillow. Usually it take about 64-70 sts on #10 (6mm)needle for a bulky yarn to make 16inches wide.
You can try making a swatch using 6mm and see how many sts you get per inch.
