Tension Squares

When knitting tension squares it say to use a larger or smaller size needle if you need to adjust the number of stitches.....so does that mean the next size needle...so 4mm to either 5mm or 3mm...or does it mean the half and quarter sizes....so 4mm to 3.75mm??

thanks,
Jenny

Tension Squares Needle Adjustment
by: Ratchadawan

Hi Jenny,

I usually goes by the next smaller of bigger needles. For example, If the instruction calls for size 8 (5mm) but my gauge is too big. I would try one size smaller, so I pick size 7 (4.5mm).

I think there is no right or wrong way to do this. The most important part is to get the gauge right.

Thanks for visiting and questioning.
Have a great day!

Ratcha
